Wenger: I will sign one experienced player

Manager Arsène Wenger has said that will most likely sign one experienced player to bolster the young squad at his disposal.

He says that he wants to give the young players a chance to grow and build on the experience that they have gained this season. Hence, his priority is to hold on tot he current squad as much as possible.

But he is looking to improve the experience in the team by signing one established player, though he stopped short of saying whether that would be a big money signing.

Wenger said: “We will continue to do what we have done.

“I will not buy too much in the summer as my priority is to keep the team together because we are still young.

“If we can add one player we will do it – not in each department – just one experienced player.”

Arsene Wenger confirms Carlos Vela return

Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that young Mexican whizkid Carlos Vela is ready for the return to Emirates.

Wenger is believed to have been impressed by young Mexican Vela and want him back at Arsenal. Vela is currently on loan at Pamplona and was expected to join the Gunners for the next campaign. After loan spells at Celta de Vigo as well as his brilliant time at Salamanca plus his massive progress at La Liga club CA Osasuna Pamplona did Carlos a important step in his career who will following in Arsene Wenger’s Premiership side.

Arsene Wenger said: “Tomas Rosicky will return, as well as Eduardo and Carlos Vela for the next season.”

Hleb Agrees To Join Inter

Arsenal star Alexander Hleb has agreed to join Inter in the summer, according to reports in the Italian media.

The Nerazzurri have been heavily linked with the skilful Belarusian in recent weeks, and indeed there were reports last month that the player held secret talks with Inter officials prior to Arsenal’s Champions League game with Milan at San Siro.  

This was later denied by Inter, however sources this morning are claiming that Hleb has agreed to join the Nerazzurri in time for next season.

The 26-year-old is said to have agreed on a five-year contract worth three million euros per season.

Inter will pay Arsenal a rather reasonable-looking 14 million euros for the player who will be Luis Figo’s replacement on the left hand side of midfield.

Figo’s contract at San Siro runs out at the end of this campaign, and he will either retire from football, or see out his remaining years in the Major League Soccer in America.

Another player who has been heavily linked with replacing Figo at Inter in recent weeks is Sevilla’s Diego Capel.

“Arsenal” is my life

Arsenal Football Club began life when a group of workers at the Woolwich Arsenal Armament Factory decided to form a football team in late 1886. The Club played under the name of Dial Square. Their first match was a 6-0 victory over Eastern Wanderers, on December 11, 1886. Soon after, the name Royal Arsenal was adopted and the Club continued playing in friendlies and local cup competitions for the next few years.

In 1891 the Club turned professional and changed its name to Woolwich Arsenal, finally joining the Football League in 1893. The Gunners moved to their current home at Highbury in 1913, as a Second Division side. Following the First World War Arsenal were voted into the newly expanded First Division, where they have remained ever since.
